Created in 1926, the Route 66 is one of the first numbered highways in the US. The highway runs between Chicago and Santa Monica and has a total length of 2,451 miles. The highway starts in sky-carping Chicago and ends in the Pacific Ocean, we mean Santa Monica. Mountain Spirits Scenic Byway
The route starts from the Silver city,a booming mining town in 1970’s and takes you through different interesting places on N. Mex 35 and brings you back to Silver city. The route goes through high desert forests of Gila national forest and penetrates most remote and largest tracts of wilderness. While traveling on this route, you will pass through several ancient cliff dwellings and also an open pit copper mine. Starting from Silver city, you have a rough climb of 6 miles through the Pinos Altos Range towards North Mexico. After the brief climb, you reach Pinos Altos town. The road narrows after you leave Pinos Altos and you pass through several rustic picnic areas shaded by cottonwoods and ponderosa pine. On the way you will also get an opportunity to view the stunning scenery on the 3.5-mile Dragonfly loop which is located 3 miles far away from the Silver city.
US 1, Florida Keys
The route gives you opportunity to ride across a 7 mile bridge that’s also one of the longest bridges in the world. The route takes you away from the mainland towards long island chain of Florida Keys. Traveling on this route gives you several opportunities to party in the beach bars and also enjoy water sports.
